It is possible to go scuba-diving in the area that goes along the coast between Cala Spalmatoio and Punta San Francesco  is the habitat for the large royal  sea gulls of Giannutri.

In this area it is possible to see cliffs, “gorgonie”yellow and red, the very rare specie ofblack corall, spunges and very rare typesoffish, above all “saraghi” and some small epinephelus.

In the deep depths of the sea that are many small openings to grottes that are used as dens for “saraghi, scrofani, gronghi” eels. etc.l
